Our story
Founded in 1998, an IB World School since 2007
Two teachers from Estonia believed that education in Sweden could use an international approach. That belief still shapes the school today.
How the school began
Europaskolan was founded in 1998 by two teachers from Estonia. They believed that the education their children were receiving in Sweden could use an international approach. After researching the various international educational bodies, it was decided that the school would eventually become an IB World School. By 2007 the goal had been achieved.
What began as a small school with 60 students and 6 employees grew into two schools with over 900 students and more than 100 employees. The passion and vision of the two founders has always been present, and their goal has always been to provide the best internationally inspired education possible.
Our sister schools
Vasa International School of Stockholm
Located in Vasastan, our sister school follows the Bilingual IB Programme. As at Europaskolan, the education offered is based on an IB framework following the Swedish national curriculum.
Kungsholmen
Our sister school on Kungsholmen follows the English IB Programme, with Swedish taught as a second language.
