Mission statement
Curiosity, confidence and action
Europaskolan facilitates a challenging and inclusive learning environment under the guidance of highly competent staff who encourage students to reflect, inquire and take action in their communities. Our learning environment enables students to experience new situations with curiosity and confidence on their journey to becoming engaged, life-long learners in a multi-cultural and ever-changing world.
Our philosophy
We believe the best education comes from combining the strengths of the Swedish school system with the strengths of international education. That is why we run the IB Primary Years and Middle Years Programmes alongside the Swedish national curriculum, and why we teach in two languages.
The IB's core values derive from the belief that students should be taught to be global citizens, capable of participating in and changing our interconnected democratic societies for the better. An important part of that education is encouraging students to become independent thinkers who can collaborate with others to create meaningful and positive change in their communities.
What this means day to day
- Small classes, so that children are surrounded by adults they know and trust.
- Teaching in Swedish and English, with resources dedicated to mother tongue instruction.
- An inquiry-based approach where students take responsibility for their own learning.
- Service as action: community projects and volunteer work as part of the programme.
